Lipidomics Profiling of P. falciparum pediatric malaria in three different ethnicities

This study investigates the lipidome profiles manifested in human serum samples originating from 198 west African children from three independent ethnic groups in Burkina Faso, collected before and during P. falciparum malarial infection, with the aim of characterizing lipid metabolism perturbations associated with disease severity. Untargeted lipidomic profiling was performed using complex lipid platform at Metabolon Inc. (Durham, NC, USA).本研究针对布基纳法索三个独立族群的198名西非儿童的血清样本中的脂质组（lipidome）谱展开分析，这些样本采集于恶性疟原虫（Plasmodium falciparum）感染前及感染期间，研究旨在表征与疾病严重程度相关的脂质代谢扰动特征。本研究借助美国北卡罗来纳州达勒姆市Metabolon公司的复合脂质分析平台，完成了非靶向脂质组学分析。
