Global biodiversity impacts of agricultural land-use intensification (2000–2019)

This repository provides the data products and supporting documentation for the study "Global biodiversity impacts of agricultural intensification are highly concentrated: A crop-resolved spatio-temporal analysis (2000–2019)". The archive contains three global NetCDF datasets at 0.25° spatial resolution covering the period 2000–2019:(i) sub-pixel land-use area by land-use type and intensity class,(ii) biodiversity impact estimates derived from characterization factors,and (iii) crop-type fractions by land-use type and intensity. Land-use types include cropland, plantations, pasture, rangeland, and abandoned land. Intensity classes are defined as low, medium, and high where applicable. All datasets follow CF-1.8 NetCDF conventions and are suitable for use in Python (xarray) and R (terra). The datasets are intended for spatial analyses of agricultural intensification, life cycle assessment (LCA), and biodiversity impact research.
