POLLEN AND PHYTOLITH ANALYSIS OF SAMPLES FROM AN EARLY UPPER PALEOLITHIC OCCUPATION AT TOR AL-TAREEQ AND EARLY EPIPALEOLITHIC AND NEOLITHIC OCCUPATIONS AT THALAB AL-BUHAYRA, JORDAN

Nine phytolith samples and six pollen samples were submitted for analysis from Tor al-Tareeq and Thalab al-Buhayra, Jordan as part of the Eastern Hasa Late Pleistocene Project (EHLPP). These samples represent Early Upper Paleolithic deposits along an ancient lake at Thalab al-Buhayra and Early Epipaleolithic and Neolithic occupations at Tor al-Tareeq. Pollen and phytolith analyses was undertaken to inform concerning local vegetation associated with a Pleistocene lake and a series of marshes.作为东哈萨晚更新世项目（Eastern Hasa Late Pleistocene Project, EHLPP）的组成部分，研究人员从约旦的托尔·塔里克（Tor al-Tareeq）与塔莱布·布海拉（Thalab al-Buhayra）两处遗址采集了9份植硅体（phytolith）样本与6份花粉（pollen）样本以供分析。上述样本分别对应塔莱布·布海拉遗址一处古湖沿岸的旧石器时代晚期早期（Early Upper Paleolithic）堆积层，以及托尔·塔里克遗址的中石器时代早期（Early Epipaleolithic）与新石器时代（Neolithic）人类活动遗存。本次花粉与植硅体分析旨在探明与更新世湖泊及一系列沼泽相关的区域植被状况。
