Sequencing and comparative genomics of the smut fungus Melanopsichium pennsylvanicum. Genome sequence of Melanopsichium pennsylvanicum

The genome of Melanopsichium pennsylvanicum strain Mp4 was re-sequenced using SMRT to obtain a more complete annotation of the genome compared to the already published genome sequence determined by Illumina sequencing (Sharma et al., 2014). This will allow for more reliable comparative studies requiring synteny information as well as assignment of gene models.
