Endeavour South Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler 75 kHz Deployed 2012-06-14

The RDI Workhorse Long Ranger ADCP 75 kHz (13429) was deployed on 2012-06-14 at Endeavour South. This south section of the Endeavour Hydrothermal Vents includes two moorings to monitor the regional circulation. This device is a Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler 75 kHz. Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (ADCP) are hydroacoustic instruments, similar to sonars. ADCPs measure current speed and direction at multiple predetermined depths simultaneously. ADCPs use the Doppler effect of sound waves that are scattered by particles in seawater over a depth range. It was deployed on a fixed platform. Data from this deployment were archived and made available through Ocean Networks Canada's Oceans 2.0 digital infrastructure, with quality assurance and derived data products following established practices.RDI Workhorse Long Ranger型75 kHz声学多普勒流速剖面仪（Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler，ADCP）（编号13429）于2012年6月14日在奋进南区域完成部署。奋进热液喷口区的这片南部区域设有两套锚系监测装置，用于监测区域环流特征。该设备即为75 kHz声学多普勒流速剖面仪，此类仪器是与声呐原理相似的水声探测设备。声学多普勒流速剖面仪可同时测量多个预设深度层的海流流速与流向，其工作原理为利用海水中颗粒物散射声波产生的多普勒效应，获取指定深度范围内的海流数据。本次部署的仪器搭载于固定锚系平台之上。此次部署获取的所有数据已完成归档，并通过加拿大海洋网络（Ocean Networks Canada）的Oceans 2.0数字基础设施对外共享；所有数据均遵循既定规范开展质量保障，并生成配套衍生数据产品。
