NRS-9915 | Registers of tenders received

These volumes are registers for Board contracts. For each contract is recorded: tender number, description of contract, date the tenders opened, estimate, list of tenders submitted, the estimate quoted and signatures of members of the Tender Board. The successful tender is indicated by the date of acceptance recorded alongside the name of the contractor. The contracts dealing with projects of major importance relate to such things as the construction of dams, reservoirs, mains and other large scale public works undertaken by the Board. The contracts dealing with minor matters relate to such things as the maintenance of existing projects administered by the Board and the provision of smaller less important water and sewerage pipes. Tenders submitted often varied greatly in estimates and the lowest tender was not necessarily accepted. (11/14289-94). 6 vols.
