Mussel Mytilus californianus transcriptome and proteome. Mytilus californianus

The objective of this study was to investigate the role of differential gene and protein expression in acclimatization of the bivalve rocky intertidal mollusk Mytilus californianus to distinct intertidal habitats. We exposed adult M. californianus to various field and lab treatments that vary in degrees of environmental stress and then performed both RNAseq and proteomics analysis to gain a full understanding of which genes and proteins have altered expression in these unique microhabitats, and whether this varies across individuals.
