Fed in the middle like a dipole through a transformer. The wire runs east-west. A second wire runs north-south of the same length. Both antennas work best below 1.8 MHz and are directional off the ends. They are not broadside like a dipole. More like a small loop. I am looking at connecting all three via a splitter. Let the ground wires pickup below 1.8 MHz and the vertical above 1.8 MHz. For CHU the vertical was probably connected at the time you looked at my receiver. I think today it is running on the east-west ground wire as I was monitoring 630 meter WSPR. One problem I have is I live within 2.5 miles of the three 5KW AM broadcast transmitters: WHIO, WING, WONE. I have a trap for the upper end of the BCB to keep from overloading the receiver.
