The State Employee Survey 2007-2021, only comparable questions

The Statsansatteundersøkelsen (Employee Survey in the Public Sector) is a representative survey conducted among state employees (excluding the Armed Forces, health institutions, etc.) every three years. From 2007 to 2021, the survey has been conducted six times. Prior to 2018, the survey was known as Medarbeiderundersøkelsen i staten (Employee Survey in the State). The purpose of the survey is to gather knowledge that can contribute to improvements in leadership development and overall employer-employee relations in the state sector.

This dataset is a compilation of comparable questions from the six rounds of the survey. There is limited documentation available for the surveys before 2016.

The Statsansatteundersøkelsen/Medarbeiderundersøkelsen i staten is conducted on behalf of the Ministry of Local Government and Modernisation (now the Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development). Previously, it was commissioned by the Ministry of Government Administration, Reform, and Church Affairs.

Limited documentation is available for the Medarbeiderundersøkelsen i staten 2007.

In 2010, data collection and reporting were carried out by Rambøll Management Consulting, commissioned by the Norwegian Agency for Public Management and eGovernment (Difi).
In 2013, the survey was conducted by TNS Gallup.
In 2016, Rambøll Management Consulting was responsible for the survey.
In 2018, the Statsansatteundersøkelsen was conducted by the Norwegian Directorate for Administration and Finance (DFØ). The survey was carried out with assistance from Statistics Norway (SSB) and Rambøll Management Consulting.
In 2021, the survey was a collaboration between Rambøll Management Consulting, DFØ, and SSB.
