资源简介:
Oil biodegradation and beach hydrodynamics were investigated in a Gulf beach located in Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge, Alabama. Groundwater table, tide level, pore-water nitrogen, dissolved oxygen and salinity were measured in the field. A numerical model, BIOMARUN, was developed to simulate the biodegradation of low solubility hydrocarbon and transport processes of associated solute species in a tidally influence beach environment. The dataset includes the measurements along with simulation results such as residual oil concentration, groundwater table, tide level and pore-water nitrogen, dissolved oxygen and salinity at different location and depth of the studied beach. These data have been used to generate figures in Geng, X., Boufadel, M.C., Lee K., Abrams S., and Suidan M., 2015. Biodegradation of subsurface oil in a tidally influenced sand beach: Impact of hydraulics and interaction with pore water chemistry. Water Resources Research, 51(5): 3193–3218.
