We used high-throughput sequencing of 16S rRNA to characterize the bacterial composition of four pampas foxes captured in the south of Brazil. We aimed to give a first-ever description of the Pampas foxes gut microbiome and to analyze the level of anthropogenic contact by qualifying the presence of antibiotic resistance genes.
