Assembly and transcriptome analysis of Nigella sativa developing seeds. Nigella sativa

Nigella sativa, also known as black cumin, seeds has been used in different folk medicines for thousands of years. The modern medicinal research also demonstrate the seeds have immense therapeutic potentials such as anticancer, anti-hepatocarcinogic, antibacterial and antimicrobial activities. We used the developing black cumin seeds, prepare RNAseq followed by assembly and annotation. We found many transcripts related to the synthesis of the volatile oil in black cumin seeds.
