IMOS SOOP-XBT Upper Ocean Thermal Data collected on the line IX12 (Fremantle-Red Sea)

Temperature data from the TOGA/WOCE transect IX12 from Fremantle to the Red Sea has been collected since 1983 and are ongoing. The transect is repeated approximately 12-15 times a year with profiles obtained approximately every 50-100 Km. \nThe data are obtained from XBTs (expendable bathythermographs) deployed vie marchant vessels, and are managed by the Joint Australian Facility for Ocean Observing Systems (JAFOOS), a collaborative venture between CSIRO Marine Research and the Bureau of Meteorology Research Centre (BMRC).

自1983年起，科研团队便开始采集连接澳大利亚弗里曼特尔与红海的TOGA/WOCE（热带海洋和全球大气/世界海洋环流实验）IX12断面的温度数据，该数据采集工作目前仍在持续推进。该断面每年约重复开展12至15次巡航调查，每次获取的温度剖面间距约为50至100千米。本次观测数据通过商船布设的XBT（投弃式温深仪，expendable bathythermographs）采集，由澳大利亚联合海洋观测系统设施（JAFOOS）负责管理，该设施是澳大利亚联邦科学与工业研究组织海洋研究部与澳大利亚气象局研究中心（BMRC）的合作共建项目。
