Selected Avoidable Mortality rate Trend

Avoidable mortality (AM) is a simple and practical population-based method ofcounting untimely and unnecessary deaths from diseases for which effectivepublic health and medical interventions are available. An excess of deaths dueto preventable causes should suggest shortcomings in the healthcare systemthat warrant further attention. Five years of data has been aggregated for allanalyses to reduce year-to-year variability in deaths, and the width ofconfidence intervals for areas with small populations. Data are presented bycalendar year (1 Jan to 31 Dec), consistent with the release of mortality databy the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

可避免死亡（Avoidable Mortality，AM）是一种基于人群的简便实用方法，用于统计可通过有效公共卫生与医疗干预手段避免的早逝与非必要死亡病例。因可预防病因导致的死亡人数超出正常水平，往往预示着医疗保健系统存在需进一步关注的短板。为降低死亡人数的年度波动，并缩小小人口区域的置信区间宽度，所有分析均采用5年汇总数据。数据以公历年（1月1日至12月31日）为统计维度进行展示，与澳大利亚统计局发布的死亡数据统计口径保持一致。
