Horseshoe Bay - Departure Bay Ferry Route Thermosalinograph Deployed 2015-06-01

The Sea-Bird Thermosalinograph SeaKeeper (SN 17) was deployed on 2015-06-01 on Horseshoe Bay - Departure Bay Ferry Route. This ferry route goes between Horseshoe Bay terminal in West Vancouver, BC and the Departure Bay terminal, Nanaimo BC. This device is a Thermosalinograph. Thermosalinographs collect data from the sea surface via flow-through systems on vessels. Typically they are mounted near the front of the vessel in order to minimize contamination. Primary variables measured are temperature and conductivity, and other variables like salinity and density are derived. It was deployed on a mobile platform.
