Wild Collected Lamprologus lethops & L. tigripictilis Raw sequence reads. Lamprologus spp.

Lamprologus lethops is a deep-water adapted cichlid fish that exhibits a number of unique phenotypic traits such as loss of pigmentation, malformed eyes and enlarged swim bladder. To better understand the genetic basis of these traits, we sequenced the genome of this species as well as the closely related cichlid, L. tigripictilis. By comparing these two genomes, we hope to gain a better understanding of the evolutionary process that act on organisms in extreme environments.
