Future prevalence of NFTs in eSports worldwide in 2021

The eSports industry has boomed in recent years, in no small part thanks to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, which forced people to seek alternative forms of entertainment during the widescale cancelation of professional sporting events. An industry that has experienced a similar meteoric rise is non-fungible tokens (NFTs), which assign a unique identifier to digital assets. During a survey of eSports industry professionals in October 2021, almost 80 percent agreed that the prevalence of NFTs in eSports would increase of the next 12 months.
