Surface ocean velocities estimated from HF-Radar are representative
of the upper 0.5 meters of the ocean. The main objective of
near-real time processing is to produce the best product from
available data at the time of processing. Radial velocity
measurements are obtained from individual radar sites through the
U.S. HF-Radar Network. Hourly radial data are processed by unweighted
least squares on a 1km resolution grid of the Hawaiian Islands to
produce near real-time surface current maps.

利用高频率雷达（HF-Radar）估算的表观海洋流速，能够表征海洋表层0.5米范围内的流速情况。近实时数据处理的主要目标是从处理时可用数据中生成最佳产品。径向速度测量数据通过美国高频率雷达网络从各个雷达站点获取。对夏威夷群岛1公里分辨率的网格进行无加权最小二乘法处理，每小时径向数据被加工成近似实时的海面流场图。
