FUTURE-ORIENTED TRANSFORMATION OF INDEPENDENT LEARNING IN HIGHER EDUCATION THROUGH MOBILE-ASSISTED LANGUAGE LEARNING (MALL)

The rapid expansion of digital technologies has significantly transformed contemporary higher education systems, particularly in the field of foreign language instruction. Among the emerging educational innovations, Mobile-Assisted Language Learning (MALL) has gained considerable attention due to its ability to extend learning opportunities beyond traditional classroom environments. A mixed-method research design was employed, incorporating diagnostic testing, learner surveys, observational analysis, and mobile learning analytics. The findings indicate that MALL-supported independent learning environments contribute to increased learner engagement, improved vocabulary retention, enhanced listening comprehension, and stronger self-regulatory learning behaviors. Furthermore, the study proposes a forward-looking pedagogical framework for integrating mobile technologies into independent language learning ecosystems.
