### Overview
The Sea Ice Dynamics Experiment was a field campaign in the Beaufort Sea during February to April 2021. The field experiment was designed to investigate the interaction of ice stress, strain, and fracture over meter-to-kilometer (m-km) spatial scales as ice fractured and subsequently deformed. Observations were collected in situ at an ice camp, using autonomous buoys, and with remote sensing. Observations were collected over a variety of scales, including scales larger than the target m-km scale. This dataset is one facet of the multi-modal data package collected together in this parent archive.
This dataset contains the hydrophone recordings from a cabled system with 18 hydrophones in five subarrays and four three-axis geophones spanning a diamond with minor axis of 60 m and a major axis of 90 m. The cabled array was part of a larger network of seismo-acoustic sensors deployed at a multiyear/first-year ice boundary, with hydrophones under and geophones on top of the ice of thicknesses ranging from one meter to five meter thickness. The cabled system recorded near-continuous data from March 5 to April 7.
