INSPIRE Controlled daily climatic data KNMI Netherlands

The KNMI operates 33 automatic weather stations on land. Meteorological parameters such as temperature, precipitation, wind, atmospheric pressure and global radiation are measured at these weather stations. All hourly observations and measurements received in real time are checked daily for accuracy and completeness. The validated data are archived in the Climatological Information System (KIS) of the KNMI. Daily data are compiled from the hourly data and once every 24 hours the reference crop evaporation is calculated according to the Makkink method. After editing and archiving the data in KIS, it can no longer be changed. This ensures data integrity.
