Full-scale dynamic test of a 2-story wood light-framed residential structure subjected to earthquake ground motions. The experiment features an innovative, low-cost isolation system with sliding high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pads on a galvanized steel surface. The wood-frame construction above the isolation plane is designed using a unibody approach, where the architectural and structural components are integrated to resist the dynamic loads of the earthquake as one unit. The experiment was divided into three phases: 1) Base isolated using a concave sliding surface 2) Base isolated using a flat sliding surface 3) Base fixed to the table.
