Effect of disinfection and building materials in contact with drinking water on the occurrence of fungi and bacteria in drinking water

The results contribute to the knowledge on the diversity and number of fungal and bacterial groups in water before and after disinfection process and point out taxa being sensitive to chemical disinfection of water. Furthermore, the results show differences between microbial communities in drinking water in comparison to those in biofilms formed on the surface of various materials in contact with drinking water.
