3 arc second digital elevation model of the Gulf of Maine

A gap-free, region-wide combined topographic/bathymetric grid at a fixed resolution is useful for describing the topography of the seafloor and for a wide variety of oceanographic studies. Generating a bathymetric grid of this type consists of (1) locating and retrieving digital datasets from a variety of sources, (2) correcting errors and determining the dataset that best represents the topography in specific regions, (3) converting the depth data to common horizontal and vertical datums, and (4) selecting and applying a gridding algorithm to create the final seamless grid.无间隙、全域覆盖的固定分辨率组合地形/测深栅格，可用于刻画海底地形，同时适用于各类海洋学研究。此类测深栅格的生成流程包含以下四个步骤：(1) 从多源渠道定位并获取数字数据集；(2) 校正数据误差，并遴选最能表征特定区域地形的数据集；(3) 将深度数据统一转换至通用的水平与垂直基准面；(4) 选取并应用栅格化算法，以生成最终的无缝栅格。
