PolQA

PolQA is the first open-domain question answering dataset for the Polish language, developed by the Institute of Computer Science of the Polish Academy of Sciences. This dataset contains 7,000 questions sourced from television quiz shows and online quizzes, with each question accompanied by up to 15 evidence passages and 5 answer variants. In total, the dataset includes 87,525 evidence passages and 8,713 answer variants. The creation of the dataset involved 16 native Polish annotators, and manual validation was conducted to ensure data quality. PolQA is primarily used to evaluate and improve the performance of open-domain question answering systems, particularly for applications in multilingual and cross-domain scenarios.
