Code and processed data for Warming accelerates global drought severity

This repository contains the code and processed datasets used to reproduce the analyses, results, and figures presented in the associated manuscript. The repository includes processed data derived from the HRSPEI datasets and other input datasets described in the manuscript, together with the R and Climate Data Operators (CDO) scripts used for data processing, drought analysis, trend and acceleration analyses, counterfactual experiments, regional analyses, and figure generation. The SEPI datasets derived from observed and climatological counterfactual atmospheric evaporative demand (AED) and precipitation (Pr) are available on Zenodo. The observed SEPI dataset is available at https://zenodo.org/records/23098969. The corresponding counterfactual SPEI datasets, calculated using climatological atmospheric evaporative demand (AEDclm) and climatological precipitation (Prclm), are available at https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.23728160 and https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.23709876, respectively.
