This dataset documents the feeding ratios of the green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas) and five species of sea urchins (Diadema setosum, Echinometra mathaei, Diadema savignyi, Echinothrix calamaris, and Tripneustes gratilla) on two different red macroalgae (Galaxaura divaricata and Gracilaria edulis) conducted in the Dongsha Atoll Research Station during the summer of 2016. In experiments targeting green sea turtles as grazers, each individual green sea turtle was separately tested for a) feeding exclusively on Galaxaura divaricata, b) feeding exclusively on Gracilaria edulis, c) feeding simultaneously on a mixed diet of both red macroalgae species, and d) feeding simultaneously on an unmixed diet of both red macroalgae species. In experiments focusing on sea urchins as grazers, each sea urchin individual was tested separately for its feeding ratio on a) Galaxaura divaricata only, b) Gracilaria edulis only, and c) on both of these two red macroalgae simultaneously. We calculated the intake ratios based on weight changes of red macroalgae. The R codes for model fittings are provided.
