NMT Valles Caldera Groundwater Data, Site 28 (Jun 01, 2011 - Nov 19, 2011)

With growing concerns about declining snowpack, warmer temperatures, and land use changes, it is becoming increasingly important to determine the sources that contribute to surface water. In western states, such as New Mexico, most of the surface water is derived from mountainous watersheds. However, the interaction between the groundwater and the surface water within these mountain systems is poorly understood.随着人们对积雪储量缩减、气温攀升以及土地利用变更的关注度不断提升，明确地表水的补给来源已成为愈发紧要的研究课题。在美国西部各州（如新墨西哥州），绝大多数地表水均来源于山地流域。但目前学界对这类山地系统中地下水与地表水之间的相互作用机制仍知之甚少。
