This study aims to address issues of fire impact on soil microbiomics, so as to understand the structural and functional resilience of soil microbiome, under various fire intensity regimes, and the pathways and mechanisms of microbiome recovery after deleterious soil heating. This study will improve our understanding of how soil microbial communities are affected by extreme fire events, which are becoming more frequent due to climate change.
