This is a temporal trend in the coverage of the three doses of poliomyelitis vaccine in the first 12 months of life between 2011 and 2021, according to federal states and Brazilian Deprivation Index. We highlight the period of the COVID-19 pandemic, in addition to mapping the vaccine coverage in 450 health regions in Brazil. Loss of vaccine coverage was observed in all regions of the country, greater in the Northern and North-eastern (the most socially vulnerable) and increasing declines in vaccine coverage during the COVID-19 pandemic. The risk of re-introduction of the wild poliovirus is imminent and challenges need to be faced by strengthening the Healthcare System (SUS).
