Laboratory Experiment Data for Surface Dynamics of Crude and Weathered Oil in the Presence of Dispersants

Laboratory experiments were conducted in the University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science (UM RSMAS) SUrge STructure Atmosphere INteraction (SUSTAIN) tank to study the spreading and contraction (due to application of dispersant) of machine and crude oil on the water surface. Two experiments were conducted. The first was on May 13, 2014 and the second was on October 15, 2015. Visual images were taken during both experiments and infrared images were taken during the October 15, 2015 experiment. Subsequent analysis of these images was conducted during October 2015 to March 2016. The analysis of these images included measurement of the size of the droplets over time. This data is presented in a CSV file.本研究于迈阿密大学罗森斯蒂尔海洋与大气科学学院（University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science, UM RSMAS）的浪涌结构-大气相互作用（SUrge STructure Atmosphere INteraction, 缩写SUSTAIN）水槽中开展实验，旨在探究机械油与原油在水面的铺展行为，以及因施加分散剂引发的收缩特性。本次实验共分为两组：第一组实验于2014年5月13日开展，第二组实验于2015年10月15日开展。两组实验均采集了可见光图像，其中2015年10月15日的实验额外采集了红外图像。上述图像的后续分析工作于2015年10月至2016年3月期间完成，分析内容涵盖随时间推移的油滴尺寸测量。相关实验数据以CSV文件格式呈现。
