ERA5 500 hPa WAF-ready Northern Hemisphere dataset (1950-2024) 1deg res
收藏资源简介:
ERA5 reanalysis dataset prepared for Wave Activity Flux (WAF) diagnostics following Takaya and Nakamura (2001), covering the Northern Hemisphere (0-90°N) at 500 hPa from 1950 to 2024. The dataset contains daily fields of geopotential (z), zonal wind (u), and meridional wind (v) at 500 hPa, regridded to a regular 1° × 1° latitude-longitude grid. Each daily field is accompanied by its monthly climatology (z_clim, u_clim, v_clim), computed from the full 1950-2024 record and mapped to each timestep based on calendar month, enabling direct anomaly computation. The dataset was constructed using the open-source code archived at [GitHub repository URL — to be added once you have it] and was prepared for the analysis in: Murphy, V., Yaniv, R., Lembo, V., Bordoni, S., & Hochman, A. (2026). North Atlantic SST drives sub-seasonal variability and predictability of the large-scale circulation.
