Example FLEXPART trajectories and ERA5 data for running the moisture source diagnostic SSW08_univie

This dataset contains air parcel trajectories and meteorological input data for running the moisture source diagnostic SSW08_univie for the extreme precipitation event in Central Europe in September 2024. Air parcel trajectories were produced with FLEXPART11 (Bakels et al., 2024) based on ERA5 meteorological data (Hersbach et al., 2020), and are saved in flxdir.zip. Each file contains all the backward trajectories released at the time indicated in the filename. Surface pressure and total precipitation from ERA5 (required by SSW08_univie) are saved in metdir.zip.
