Ciliate abundance in water samples collected at Station MAY-1997-S02 in the Aegean Sea

For sample preservation borax-buffered formalin (final concentration 2% formaldehyde) has been used. Samples were stored at 4°C in the dark until observation. 100 ml samples have been transferred into Utermohl chambers for settling during 24 hours and finally examined by means of an inverted microscope.采用硼砂缓冲福尔马林（甲醛终浓度为2%）对样本进行固定保存。样本于4℃避光储存直至开展观测。将100 ml样本转移至乌特莫尔沉降室（Utermohl chamber）中静置沉降24小时，最终通过倒置显微镜完成观测。
