In this study, 477 spring-type Brassica napus lines from a canola breeding programme were analysed using multi-omics approaches. Plants were cultivated in the IPK phenotyping facility for large plants and shoot material was sampled 14 days after sowing. Pools of plant material for each genotype were generated. In addition, four contrasting lines were analysed with three biological replicates. Total RNA was isolated from each sample using the GeneJET Plant RNA Purification Mini Kit (Thermo Fischer Scientific Inc., Waltham, USA) and after quality checks cDNA libraries were constructed using the Lexogen SENSE mRNA-Seq Library Prep Kit V2 (Lexogen GmbH, Vienna, Austria). Sequencing was performed using 100 bp single end (SE) reads on a HiSeq 2500 platform (Illumina, San Diego, USA).
