VPRS 18000 Winlaton Community Support Group Records

This records in this series consists of correspondence, administrative and promotional material from the Winlaton Community Support Group. It includes correspondence, a copy of the group constitution, minutes of meetings, photographs of the trainees and their activities, newsletters and ephemera. The Winlaton Community Support Group was formed in mid 1977 to support the work done by the Winlaton Youth Training Centre (VA 5093) for female trainees. The group arranged outings and activities, provided birthday and Christmas presents, provided transport for individual residents to job interviews etc. and raised funds for the centre. In 1983 the group opened Alliance House, a hostel for girls who had been released from Winlaton's pre-release section 'Leawarra', but who were not yet ready to move into the community. Alliance House was closed down in 1989, as Winlaton was restructured before the opening of the Nunawading Youth Residential Centre (VA 5214) in 1991. While the group was active the records in this series were kept together as one record system by the president. It was handed over to Winlaton staff by the last President of the Winlaton Community Support Group, Mr. R. Armstrong. The records were arranged by subject in folders. Subsequent to being transferred to the Department of Health and Community Services, the temporary financial records were expunged from the collection.

在该小组存续期间，本系列档案由小组主席统一整理为一套独立的档案系统。最后一任温拉顿社区支援小组主席R·阿姆斯特朗先生将档案移交至温拉顿工作人员手中。档案按主题分类装入文件夹。在移交至卫生与社区服务部后，馆藏中的临时财务记录已被移除。
