Phylogenomics of Anthurium sect. Pachyneurium

This study presents the first comprehensive phylogenomic analysis of the genus Anthurium (Araceae), with a focus on the evolutionary history of section Pachyneurium. Utilizing the universal Angiosperms353 probe set and Hyb-Seq techniques, our primary objectives are to: (1) generate a high-resolution genomic dataset by capturing hundreds of conserved nuclear loci; (2) reconstruct the phylogeny of sect. Pachyneurium and explicitly test its monophyly; and (3) infer the timing of origin and diversification for the genus and its key lineages through the construction of a calibrated ultrametric tree. This integrated framework aims to resolve long-standing infrageneric relationships and clarify the phylogenetic position of endemic Brazilian lineages, addressing significant knowledge gaps in the systematics of this diverse tropical group.
