The data set is for dolerite sills and dikes (Ferrar Dolerite), and basalt lava flows (Kirkpatrick Basalt). The dolerite data come mainly from sill samples collected in the central Transantarctic Mountains whereas the lava data come from all the principal extrusive rock outcrop regions. The data set includes major and trace element compositions obtained by XRF and ICP-MS.
