资源简介:
Samples from Site 48CA450 in northeast Wyoming were submitted for pollen, macrofloral, and protein residue analysis. This site may be a multicomponent site with surface and subsurface components. The deeper buried horizon yielded Pelican Lake style projectile points. Other Pelican Lake sites in the area have yielded radiocarbon dates of 3,000 - 3,800 B.P. The surface features are believed to be younger, and may yield radiocarbon dates around 1100 + B.P. One surface sample and fifteen pollen column soil samples were analyzed for pollen content, resulting in a terrace stability record and tentative environmental information. Macrofloral analysis of hearth fill samples is used to provide information concerning plant resources that may have been utilized by the various occupants of the site. One of the Pelican Lake-style projectile points from the deeper buried horizon was analyzed for possible protein residues in order to obtain information concerning prehistoric faunal resources.
