Fishing Line Material Properties Dataset

The dataset consists of 90 tensile test files collected from a comprehensive experimental study investigating the mechanical properties of fishing line materials under controlled laboratory conditions. The data is organized into three experimental groups (group_1, group_2, and group_3) with systematic variation in sample lengths (5 inches, 10 inches, and 20 inches) and crimp configurations (21mm diameter for groups 1 and 3, 23mm diameter for group 2), providing 10 replicate measurements for each unique combination to ensure statistical reliability. Each CSV file contains time-series data from universal testing machine output, recording elapsed time in seconds, applied tensile force in Newtons, and crosshead displacement in millimeters during controlled strain-rate testing until material failure. The standardized data format enables automated analysis of stress-strain relationships, calculation of material properties including Young's modulus and yield stress, and determination of kinetic energy storage capacity for each sample. This systematic experimental design supports comparative analysis between different crimp sizes, investigation of length effects on material behavior, and robust statistical characterization with sufficient replication for meaningful conclusions about fishing line mechanical performance under tensile loading conditions.
