The evolution of brain neuron numbers in amniotes

Dataset S1 contains data on numbers of neurons and other cells in whole brain and major brain parts in 37 species of birds and 108 species of reptiles. %NeuN: percentage of NeuN positive cells in the brain parts; N/mg: number of neurons per mg of tissue; O/mg: number of non-neurons per mg of tissue; % of brain mass: percentage of the whole brain by mass; % of brain neurons: percentage of the whole brain by number of neurons; % of brain nonneuronal cells: percentage of the whole brain by number of non-neurons. Dataset S2 contains data on brain mass and body mass for 149 reptiles species.
