Digital terrain model (ATKIS® — DGM50) MV

Digital terrain models (DGM) are numerical, reduced to a regular grid models of terrain heights and shapes. They describe the terrain surface as the interface between the solid earth body and the water on the one hand and the air on the other by a representative three-dimensional dot set. In addition to regularly distributed elevation points (DGM grids), DGM can contain structural elements in the form of terrain lines and special terrain points. In the DGM50, points with a grid width of 50 m are guided and, if necessary, supplemented by structural elements. DGM do not represent objects on the surface of the earth (e.g. trees or houses).
