Daily electricity demand data for Indian states (2014–2024)

These files contain data scraped from India's national grid, organised as follows:daily_energy_met_MU: the total electricity supplied by the grid to each state in units of MU (GWh), daily aggregatespeak_met_MW: the peak power supplied to each state (per day, in units of MW)peak_unmet_MW: the maximum deficit in supplied power (compared to demand) for each state (per day, in units of MW)

Corrected versions of the above are also supplied, which have undergone a simple quality control that checks for transcription errors. We recommend using these unless you intend to conduct your own quality control.

Individual state files contain relevant meteorological data for each state (for training ML demand models). These include daily minima, means, and maxima for the following: 2-m temperautre, 10-m u and v winds, 2-m dewpoint temperature, surface solar radiation, total cloud cover, and UTCI.
