Roth, Asymmetric Poly(methacrylic acid)-based polyelectrolyte multilayer membranes: The role of polyanion structure on separation properties, Journal of Membrane Science (2025) 124409.In this study, polyelectrolyte multilayers (PEMs) were deposited onto ceramic support membranes, and the effects of coating pH as well as the type of polyanion were examined. Initially, various PEM systems were analyzed on model surfaces using whispering gallery mode (WGM) sensing, quartz crystal microbalance (QCM), zeta potential (electrophoretic mobility), and contact angle measurements. Membrane characterization was carried out through pure water permeability tests, single salt retention, and polyethylene glycol retention experiments. In addition, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was employed to visualize the PEM layers on the support membranes. The dataset includes all data relevant to this study, with further details about individual files provided in the README.txt document.
