The interaction between platelets and cancer cells enhances metastasis; however, the cross-talk between platelets and non-malignant cells within the tumor microenvironment (TME) remains poorly characterized. In this project, we performed RNA-seq to study the effects of tumor-derived IL-6 on hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) in the bone marrow, as well as the potential of altered platelets as a treatment target. Specifically, we orthotopically transplanted IL-6 overexpressing mouse gastric cancer cells into mice. The mice were divided into two groups: a clopidogrel group and a no-treatment group. Treatment began 2 days after transplantation. HSCs were isolated from the bone marrow for RNA-seq analysis 2 weeks after transplantation.
