The Effect of Oomycete Pathogen Inoculation on the Rhizobiome of Rhododendron

The dataset is comprised of indexed samples associated with ITS1 and rps10 metabarcodes. Three oomycete pathogens were used as inoculum (Phytophthora cinnamomi, Phytophthora plurivora, and Globisporangium cryptoirregulare) at 1 or 100 CFU/g, resulting in six different treatment soils. There were also uninoculated controls. Novo Zembla Rhododendron plants were planted in the different pots, and after three weeks, the rhizosphere was harvested. Following DNA extractions from the root balls, the ITS1 and rps10 barcodes were amplified. For each sample, PCR reactions were combined in equal volumes, and following library preparations, the library was sequenced on an Illumina MiSeq. After sequencing, the data was demultiplexed into samples.
