First annotated checklist of fungi of Costa Rica 2024. Searchable Excel database

This dataset is the first comprehensive checklist of fungi documented in Costa Rica, developed through collaboration between local and international mycological experts. It is based on 877 publications documenting over 170 years of mycological research in the country, including approximately 9,753 records and 5,682 species and subspecific taxa across 1,648 genera. The checklist provides detailed information on supraspecific taxonomic ranks, accepted species names with authors, synonyms with authors, and corresponding literature references.
