Il virologo della porta accanto: la mediatizzazione della scienza durante la pandemia

The mass fear and the lack of reliable information on the pandemic have prompted the major media to integrate "scientists" into their formats and representations, as figures capable of interpreting the pandemic trend and answering the safety questions of the pandemic into the public opinion. The important media presence of scientists, specializing in the epidemic, has been able to perform some functions for the public, useful for outlining different ways to satisfy the need for information. In this sense, an index of reliability and notoriety of scientists has also emerged. It is necessary to consider how the growing importance of the media representation of science is an opportunity to literate the public to scientific knowledge but it needs a fair measure of public interest. Furthermore, we need to start a media strategy with an increasingly central role in the societies of the near future.
