After the artificial inoculation of Pinus pinaster plants from the half-sibling family 465 with pinewood nematode (Bursaphelenchus xylophilus, isolate Bx013.003), samples of the stem were collected 72 hours post-inoculation. Plants were classified as resistant or susceptible according to their symptoms 210 days post inoculation. Total RNA was extracted from the stem samples and degradome sequencing (Illumina HiSeq 2500) was performed for a pool of 4 resistant and a pool of 4 susceptible plants separately.
