Outstanding Florida Waters

Outstanding Florida Waters, (OFW), are waters designated worthy of special protection because of their natural attributes. This special designation is applied to certain waters (including adjacent wetlands) and is intended to protect and maintain existing acceptable water quality. The OFW layer is a GIS spatial dataset that represents the OFW boundaries throughout the State of Florida as described in Rule 62-302.700, F.A.C. This layer includes all three types of OFWs: Aquatic Preserve OFWs, Special Water OFWs, and Other managed area OFWs. This layer is maintained by the FDEP Water Quality Standards Program (WQSP) and boundary refinements are made on an as needed basis based on supplemental information provided by Department staff and other external state agencies that oversee managed areas designated as OFWs. There are three aquatic preserves whose OFW boundaries differ from the aquatic preserve boundary. These are described more specifically in the OFW Rule 62-302.700: Indian River Malabar to Vero expansion - does not include portions of Sebastian and Turkey Creeks; Wekiva River - does not include portions of the St. Johns River; and Big Bend - the OFW rule specifies certain "incorporated and unincorporated areas that are excluded."佛罗里达杰出水域（Outstanding Florida Waters，OFW）是因具备天然属性而被赋予特殊保护地位的水域。该特殊认定适用于特定水域（含毗邻湿地），旨在保护并维持现有合格水质水平。OFW图层是地理信息系统（GIS）空间数据集，用于呈现佛罗里达州全域范围内符合佛罗里达行政法规（F.A.C.）第62-302.700条规定的OFW边界范围。该图层涵盖三类OFW：水生保护区型OFW、特殊水域型OFW以及其他管理区域型OFW。该图层由佛罗里达环境保护部（FDEP）水质标准计划（WQSP）负责维护，并会根据部门工作人员及其他监管OFW指定管理区域的州级外部机构提供的补充信息，按需对边界进行优化调整。有三处水生保护区的OFW边界与原生水生保护区边界存在差异，佛罗里达行政法规第62-302.700条（OFW规则）对此有更详细的说明：印第安河马拉巴至维罗扩建区——不包含塞巴斯蒂安溪与土耳其溪的部分河段；韦基瓦河——不包含圣约翰河的部分河段；大弯区域——OFW规则明确指定了部分需排除的"已建制与未建制区域"。
